Arthur Price Despicable Me 3 Review
I have absolutely loved Minions since the first time they hit our screens in the original Despicable Me movie! Now Sophie is 2, she has started to become aware of the characters and has decided she rather likes them. We currently have a small hoard of Minion paraphernalia &, thanks to Arthur Price, we have now extended our collection!
Arthur Price is a UK family owned business that started in 1902, manufacturing & supplying high quality cutlery & dining sets to large retailers. In 2012, the company launched their first set of children’s gifts based on The Gruffalo. Following the success of this, & to coincide with the new movie’s release, Arthur Price have just launched their Despicable Me 3 range!
We were lucky enough to be asked to review these new sets & I knew Sophie would be really pleased to be trying out some more ‘grown-up’ tableware. From the collection we were sent the stainless steel Expressions 4 Piece Cutlery Set & the bone china Sea of Minions 3 Piece Crockery Set. All pieces came in a super cute Minion presentation box & were well packaged.
Expressions 4 Piece Cutlery Set
The cutlery set contains a fork, knife & 2 different sized spoons. When I opened the cutlery set box I was really impressed at how shiny they were & the quality of each item. The sturdiness of each piece means you can certainly tell they are made from 18/10 finest stainless steel.
Each item features a different Minion & a Minion Expression i.e. “I don’t share”, “Powered by bananas”, “One in a Minion” and “Blumock!”
Sophie was really excited to use her new cutlery set so, at breakfast time, I put her in her highchair and let her explore the new cutlery while I cooked. She was obsessed with the pictures of the characters on each item & kept trying to look at them while she was eating. She found it fairly easy to use (for a 2 year old) as it is not too chunky & the rounded handles meant she could get a good grip. The fork is quite sharp, but Sophie is really good with cutlery so I wasn’t worried about this. It also meant she could pick up her food more easily than with a plastic one! The knife isn’t sharp, but is strong enough to cut with. I let Sophie have a go, but knew she wouldn’t be able to use it properly just yet.
The items are dishwasher safe, but it’s recommended that you hand wash them to keep them in the best condition. The set costs £24.95.
Sea of Minions 3 Piece Set
I absolutely love the design of this set! Literally a sea of minions peering out from behind each other with funny expressions. This collection contains a mug, a plate & a bowl. Again, each piece is really high quality & will be kept for special occasions in our house!
Sophie loved having her food served on both the plate & the bowl, revealing the characters as she ate. The mug is a nice size and not too heavy for little hands. Sophie did spill more of her drink down her top than in her mouth, but that’s due to lack of practise with ‘grown-up’ cups!
All 3 items are dishwasher safe and cost £24.95 for the set. You can buy each item separately with prices starting at £8.95.
Both Sophie & I love these 2 sets & it has made mealtimes more fun for her! I will let her use the spoons & fork at dinnertime, but we’re going to be keeping the crockery set for special occasions as I’m worried that they will get broken as she is still so young.
Both sets have a 15 year guarantee, making them far superior to what Daddy & I use to eat with!
