Waterproof Baby Bib: Bibetta Newborn Plush Baby Bib Review
It cannot be denied that feeding a newborn baby is a lovely, snuggly bonding experience. However, it can also a rather messy one! Charlie is currently bottle feeding however he sometimes seems to get more milk dribbling out of his mouth than actually going in. I get through about 5 muslin cloths a day & regularly have to change his outfit when the milk has soaked through.
I know that bibs are essential for keeping a child’s clothes clean for as long as possible & have tried a range of newborn bibs. Unfortunately this has been without success as the gap between his neck & the bib is invariably too large so clothes still get sodden. A recent discovery, though, is the Bibetta Newborn Plush Baby Bib – a large, soft bib perfect for catching milk dribbles!
Bibetta
Bibetta was founded in 2004 when Paul Brown, a product designer, dad & keen surfer, tried many different types of bibs on his baby daughter. However he soon realised that none were ideal.
Since then, Bibetta have been designing & manufacturing a range of smart, innovative and practical products to help make everyday family life fun & relaxing. They use a range of technical fabrics & clever design ideas to create products that give the best comfort, style, waterproofing, easy cleaning and durability.
Bibetta Newborn Plush Baby Bib Review
Over the past month we have been testing out the Newborn Plush Baby Bib on Charlie. After lots of milk spillages our verdict is that these bibs work really well!
The Newborn Plush Baby Bib is a made from a unique, sumptuously soft, fine plush material. Rubbing your fingers across it, it feels like a super-soft teddy, perfect for newborn babies.
When feeding Charlie his bottle, the bib absorbs the dribbles & milk really well. The bib dries really quickly so there are no concerns about him getting skin sores. The 100% waterproof middle barrier protects baby & his clothes, so no more frequent outfit changes!
The bib is also really easy to care for. It can be either hand or machine washed (recommended 30 degrees). The quick dry material works when either air or tumble-dried.
Although the name of the bib is ‘Newborn’, it is quite long (14cm from the neckline to bib bottom) & so would fit older babies comfortably. The velcro neck fastening is easily adjusted negating the gap between the bib & neck.
Finally, the bibs come in two unisex designs. You can choose from either cream & taupe or white & grey, both neutral enough to match any outfit. The embossed teddy bear is a really cute additional touch.
Overall
This is probably the best newborn bib we have used. It meets many needs for both parent & baby. It has meant we don’t need to change Charlie’s clothes so frequently as the tops stay dry & his skin is protected from any wet material. The bib washes & dries so easily & is small enough to be taken out & about when needed. Overall we would definitely recommend this bib for babies, particularly those who are prone to make a bit of mess at feeding time!
It would also make an ideal baby shower gift!
