All About the Blogger: Introducing Life As Mrs D
I’ve started taking part in a new series on the blog called ‘All about the Blogger’. It’s a fab linky which involves getting to know other bloggers and their blogs.
Today I would like to introduce to you Sophie from Life As Mrs D!
Sophie has been blogging over at Life As Mrs D for over 4 years now, where she writes about life as a wife, and being mum to Isla Jean. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and down on her allotment whenever she gets the time.
Q1. How would your best friend describe you?
Thoughtful, kind, quiet at first, but loud once you get to know her, swears a lot!
Q2. What is your favourite thing about blogging?
The amazing community of bloggers you get to know along the way, and how helpful and supportive they are.
Q3. If you could change anything about blogging, what would it be?
More transparency, and fairness when it comes to securing work!
Q4. If you were invited to a Blogger’s Cocktail Party, which three bloggers would you invite and why?
Donna from What The Redhead said, she seems so genuinely lovely, and is a font of knowledge about blogging, I’d love to pick her brains about all sorts of things…plus she shares my love for gin, so we’d have some great fun coming up with new gin cocktails together
Katy from KatyKicker – I think she’s a lot like me, in that she tells things how they are a lot of the time, and doesn’t sugar coat things. I really like that in people as you know exactly where you stand.
Charlotte from Write Like No One’s Watching…..although technically she is a Youtuber these days rather than blogger. She just seems the most amazing person I’ve come across in the blogging world, she puts herself down as a mum, and person, far too much and I would love to meet her and tell her how wonderful a job she is doing. She seems so down to earth, and like you could have a really good laugh with her.
Q5. What is the best blogging tip you have been given?
Write for yourself. If you concentrate too much on “will this get good page views?” or anything like that, you are likely to fall out of love with blogging. Page views and all those stats are a bonus, but at the end of the day, you should be doing it because it makes you happy and is what you enjoy writing about.
Q6. When you aren’t blogging, where is your favourite place to visit for a day out?
I love spending time down on our allotment, I never get down there as much as I’d like, but I could happily spend hours and hours down there all day every day (as long as it’s not tipping it down, too hot, or too cold!!!)
Q7. Tell us about your guilty pleasure. It could be food, drink, a TV programme or your favourite band.
Chocolate. I eat far too much of the stuff. I can work my way through most of a big bar of chocolate in one sitting while watching TV. It’s no wonder I don’t fit into most of my trousers anymore!!
Q8. If you knew you were going to be marooned on a desert island and could take 3 luxury items with you, what would they be?
It it cheating to say a inflatable boat!?! If it is cheating , then I would choose a sleeping bag (with built in pillow), some Earl Grey tea bags, and a notebook and pen
Q9. What was the last good book you read?
I rarely get time to read these days, and to be perfectly honest when I do they tend to be free ones on my Kindle that I never know the names of, usually chick lit, as they require no brain power
Q10. Describe your perfect date night?
Cocktails, then dinner out at a really nice restaurant, and then to the cinema to watch a film of my choosing.
