The Snowman Tour 2017
I can’t believe how quickly December & Christmas (yes, I said it) are coming towards us! I must admit, even though I love warm, Summer days, I get really excited by Winter & the extra magic that Christmas brings now I have a little one.
As a child, my all time favourite TV program was The Snowman. I would always watch it at Christmas (& still do!), but also throughout the year -including in the middle of Summer. My Nan had it on video cassette (remember those?) & it would always be the first thing I would watch when I visited her house. Sophie is old enough now to enjoy it herself & I cannot wait for it to be on so I can watch it with her.
The Snowman Tour 2017 from Carrot Productions
I am super excited to announce that we are attending The Snowman Tour from Carrot Productions this year! This magical show sees The Snowman film brought to life on the big screen accompanied by a live, professional orchestra. The classic “Walking In the Air” will be sung by a young soloist & to top it off, there will be a visit from The Snowman! I think Sophie will love it (as will I!).
Additionally, as The Snowman film is half an hour long, this only accounts for half of the show. Before the main event, the first half is a showing of a short, animated film. The film shown varies by venue. At most venues, it is The Bear and The Piano, an exclusive animated film based on David Litchfield’s award winning book. The animation is narrated by Joanna Lumley and, again, is accompanied by the live orchestra. At some venues, the film is Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker with animation by Tom Scott or Cinderella. We are going to Coventry Cathedral where we will be watching The Bear and The Piano. I don’t know the story & cannot wait to see how it unfolds.
The Snowman Tour 2017 is making its way around England in a variety of spectacular venues. What could be more ‘Christmassy’ than watching The Snowman in a cathedral? Or you could even see it in Blackpool Tower Ballroom! Take a look at the website to see which dates in December and venues you can book for. BE QUICK – many venues have already sold out, including York Minster, Worcester & Lichfield Catherdrals!
Still not sure? Watch this video below – it made me even more excited to be seeing this show for myself!
** I have been given tickets to see The Snowman Tour 2017 in exchange for this post and a review after the show. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
